Presentation of Pilot Research at Regional meeting for clinical and translational research

Dr. Sophia Newcomer presented at the 6th Annual Meeting of the Mountain West Clinical and Translational Infrastructure Network (CTR-IN) in Las Vegas, NV on June 10-11, 2019. Dr. Newcomer is one of ten pilot grant awardees across the 13 institution, 7 state Mountain West network. Her research project, ‘Bridging the rural-urban disparity: a mixed-methods analysis of human papillomavirus vaccine uptake in Montana,’ includes a partnership with the state’s Montana Immunization Program and pediatric healthcare providers. Montana, and rural communities in particular, fall short of the Health People 2020 goals for adolescent HPV vaccination.
