Where did you attend college?

Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. I completed a double major in music and biochemistry.

Where did you do your residency?

At Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. This was a combined residency in family medicine and preventive medicine.

Within your speciality, do you have any sub-specialty areas of practice that you particularly enjoy?

Chronic disease management, care of children and young families, preventive medicine, public health, and health policy.

What do you most enjoy about practicing Family Medicine?

I love the continuity relationships with patients and the variety of medical issues I encounter on a daily basis.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

Working with students and residents challenges me to keep learning and growing as a physician. We have attracted amazing people to our program and I enjoy working with all of them. I find it very rewarding to watch the professional development of our residents as they progress through training.

What brought you to Montana?

I was born and raised in Missoula. This is an excellent community to raise a family.

Why did you choose to be part of FMRWM?

The amazing colleagues, residents and staff.

What are some of your interests outside of the clinic or classroom?

Choral and instrumental music, biking, skiing, hiking, and spending time with my four young children.

What do you love most about Western Montana?

Anything outside.
