Description
Trauma can have major impacts on individuals and society as a whole. We will explore the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACES), Historical Trauma, Re-traumatization and Post-Traumatic Growth. Participants will learn what it is, why it matters and how to be Trauma-Informed/Responsive in our daily interactions.
Learning objectives:
- Define trauma and understand its impact on health.
- Recognize our role in Trauma-Informed Care (specifically for health care providers).
- Apply the core principles of Trauma-Informed Care to build informed & responsive connections.
Trainer Information
Ivy Anderson
Ivy Anderson is the Program Director at The Parenting Place. She received her BSW from the University of Montana in 2008, and has been facilitating parenting classes and giving ACE and trauma trainings since 2014. Ivy enjoys yoga and spending time with her 12 year old son and their pug named Bob.
