Graduation Information

Students need to complete the relevant application (below) and submit it to the School of Public and Community Health Sciences (SPCHS) Administration Office at least two weeks prior to the deadline listed below for final submission to the UM Graduate School office.  As a reminder, you need to be enrolled in at least a 1-credit course during the semester you want to graduate in (UM Graduate School’s Continuous Enrollment policy).

Graduation Applications

Students not graduating the semester applied will be charged a $20 processing fee each semester until the degree is completed.

2020 Commencement

No tickets are required for the main ceremony or for the individual department ceremony. If you haven't done so already, contact the Administration Office to RSVP with an approximate number of family and guests expected to be in attendance.

  • Graduation – Saturday, May 9th.  Main graduation ceremony, including for the College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences, is at 2:00 pm in the Adams Center.
  • The School of Public and Community Health Sciences Commencement Convocation will be held at on Saturday, May 9th from 12:00 - 1:30 PM in the Skaggs Building, Room 169.  A light reception will be held immediately following the Commencement Convocation in Skaggs Building, Room 166.
  • Robes can be ordered from the University bookstore.  Robes can be picked up Friday prior to graduation in the bookstore.  The gown and hood are rentals and will need to be returned to the bookstore after graduation; you can keep the tassel and cap.
  • Need hotel reservations for graduation – make them now!
  • Check your university email account regularly (only means of communication available from faculty and staff).
