New Directions Wellness Center is a non-profit health promotion program that includes a fitness facility designed for people with chronic illness or disability. Staff is available for general help or questions and individualized one-on-one assistance. Physical Therapy services are also available and we are able to bill all insurances including Medicare and Medicaid for any physical therapy you require. We will also bill private pay patients in accordance with a sliding fee scale that is dependent on income. The staff at New Directions will create an individualized workout regimen upon joining and are available to assist, motivate, and support you each time you come in. As a whole, New Directions is here to help monitor the workout and our physical therapists are on hand for continued treatment, screens, or consult at any time. Our goal is to facilitate health maintenance and improvement at a pace comfortable for the client.
Individuals considered appropriate for joining the NDWC would include those discharged from their rehabilitation program, or anybody with a physical limitation or chronic illness that could benefit from a supervised exercise program. We offer a friendly and supportive environment that works within the client's needs to improve overall quality of life. We take a holistic approach to disease prevention. One way is with our “Living Well with a Disability” course we offer that centers on quality of life, goal setting, healthy communication, avoiding a depressive lifestyle, and other health-related topics. Individual pharmaceutical consults are also available to participants of our program, as are on-site physical therapy services. Our equipment is specifically designed to take pressure off the joints and work the muscle groups from either a sitting or standing position and is accessible to users of any ability. A clinical exercise specialist, always available for questions or concerns, supervises the gym.
