Personal Summary

Kim Spurzem is the Director of Workforce Training at the Center for Children, Families, and Workforce Development at the University of Montana. Ms. Spurzem oversees a team of diverse professionals collaborating with stakeholders across Montana to assess workforce training needs, develop tailored full-remote training, and evaluate the training's effectiveness. Ms. Spurzem's previous work at the Center focused on violence prevention efforts in Montana, such as preventing bullying, child abuse, suicide, and sexual violence.

Before her work at the Center, she trained thousands of Montana students and professionals in creating collaborative and welcoming schools and workplaces. She has over a decade of experience in positive youth development, working to improve social-emotional well-being and resilience, and group conflict resolution. She has been integral in expanding youth-led system changes across Montana.

With a background in community organizing, she is passionate about engaging community voices in program design, decision-making, program improvement, and evaluation. Ms. Spurzem is also a huge nerd who loves discussing the need to demystify data by improving access, understanding, and utilization to improve outcomes for Montanans.
