Personal Summary

Stacie joined the Center for Children, Families and Workforce Development in December of 2022 to help launch Montana's first Project ECHO for Hepatitis C, HIV prevention and Disease Intervention Specialists. She is a joyful mother of two adult children, continues to raise one of her child's dogs, and enjoys frequent walks with her husband, John, an avid cyclist and computer programming instructor at MSU-Billings. Stacie recently had a total knee replacement and seems to be making a full recovery. She plans to resume hiking and possibly some slow, recreational skiing in 2023! If you ever find Stacie sitting down, she will likely be knitting up a storm.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Montana State University 1994

Professional Experience

Stacie started her nursing career in the United States Air Force, specializing in obstetrics. She was a certified childbirth educator and lactation consultant, facilitated Pediatric Advanced Life Support and completed Flight Nursing School through the USAF. While active duty, Stacie represented the United States as a member of the U.S. Alpine Armed Forces Ski Team racing in Italy and Norway with our allied nations. She has worked in Boise, ID and Billings, MT hospitals as a Labor & Delivery Nurse as well as serving geographically remote areas through the flight team transporting high risk obstetric patients to hospitals with specialty care. Most recently Stacie served her Montana community as a public health nurse on the Yellowstone County Communicable Disease team. Her greatest joy is helping the underserved access high quality care and connecting patients to resources to meet their most basic needs, giving them hope for their futures.
