The Montana Board of Medical Directors established a 48-hour clinical requirement for CIH providers. The specifics, location, and scope of these clinical rotations are at the discretion of the CIH program's medical director to better tailor the clinical experience to the setting, patient demographic, etc., that the CIH provider may be serving. The clinical experience can be decided by you and your medical director to best meet any educational needs you may have. For example, if you were going to care for patients with diabetic stasis ulcers, clinical time spent in a wound care center would be very beneficial. If you were caring for the general patient population, perhaps clinical hours in the health department or a primary care clinic would be time well spent.

The endorsement submission form is on the Montana Board of Medical Examiners website. Present your clinical hours to your CIH Medical Director for review, fill out the endorsement form, have the medical director sign the form, and, along with $10, mail the form to the address listed on the form.

Still have questions? Don't hesitate to contact your CIH program's medical director or Dave McEvoy for more information.
